Beard Tops Red Clay 602 Late Model Series at Sugar Creek for $3,000 Payday
(BLUE RIDGE, GEORGIA) Frankie Beard, of Hartwell, Georgia, became the fourth different winner in as many races this year by topping the Schaeffer's Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series competitors on Saturday evening at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Georgia! After posting the quickest time in Group B and overall, during Knowles Race Parts and Bodies, LLC qualifying, Frankie started his #21B machine from the outside of the front row in the 30-lapper. Finishing behind the winning Beard at the unfurling of the checkered flag was Seymour, Tennessee driver Shaun Sise, who started from the inside of the second row. Murphy, North Carolina ace Colton Berrong advanced two spots during the course of the contest to round out the podium in third. Cooper Twiggs also moved past a pair of competitors to finish in the fourth spot, while Jason Deal hard charged by eleven cars to nab the final position inside of the top five.
