Alabama Doubleheader for Red Clay 602 Series Wiped Out by Dreary Weather Forecast
Ryan DelphAfter boasting five different winners in the first five series races, the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series was slated to invade the state of Alabama on May 1-2 for a pair of weekend events. Unfortunately, a dreary weather forecast has doomed both the $2,000 to win show planned for Friday night at West Alabama Speedway in Winfield, Alabama and the $2,500 to win program scheduled for Saturday evening at Buckshot Speedway in Clanton, Alabama.
Series and track officials are still scouring over schedules to try to find suitable makeup dates for each race. The next scheduled event for the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will be a visit to North Georgia Speedway on Saturday, May 23. The annual ‘Biddle Ridley Memorial’ is on tap that night at the Chatsworth, Georgia venue and a $2,000 top prize will be up for grabs for the 602 Late Model stars.
