Ryan Delph

A long 21-race season for the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series - that started back on March 1 - will culminate in a special Championship Night program this Friday, October 24 at I-75 Raceway.  A $2,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs on Friday evening for the 602 Late Models at the Sweetwater, Tennessee venue in an event presented by Tuxedo Glass & Mirror Co, Inc.  The Red Clay tour has visited I-75 Raceway on two previous occasions this year with Hayden Cardwell picking up the win on April 18 and Koulten Herbert emerging victorious on July 15.

In the first twenty races of the tour this year, sixteen different winners have celebrated in victory lane.  Seymour, Tennessee ace Shaun Sise still leads the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series point standings heading into the I-75 finale over Kevin Fisher and Justin Howard.  With only a driver’s best 18 races counting towards the final series point standings, the Championship Night program provides a third opportunity for these drivers to drop a race.

Joining the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series on the racing card on Friday at I-75 Raceway will be the Sportsman ($700 to win), Open Wheel Modified ($700 to win), and Street Stock ($500 to win) divisions.  In addition, practice sessions will be held intermittently throughout the evening for classes that are running in Saturday’s annual Tarheel 53.  Tier parking and the pit gates will open at 2:00pm, while the grandstands will open at 4:00pm.  The drivers meeting is set for 6:30pm and racecars will take to the racetrack at 7:00pm.

Grandstand admission into I-75 Raceway on Friday will be $20.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids ages 6-11.  Admission into tier parking will be $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids ages 6-11.  A pit pass will be $40.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids ages 6-11.  Children ages 5 and under will be admitted onto the grounds for FREE.  I-75 Raceway is located at 1791 Highway 68 in Niota, Tennessee.  The track phone number is 423-599-3026 or learn more about the track online at www.i-75racewaypark.com.

The Red Clay 602 Late Model Series tire rule for I-75 Raceway will be Left Front: Open, Right Front: American Racer Pro 2, Left Rear: American Racer Pro 2, Right Rear: American Racer Pro 2 or Pro 4.  The entry fee will be $80.00 and transponders will be available to rent.  If you can’t make it to the track, we invite you to watch all of the action LIVE on Dirt Rich TV.
