Kenny Peeples, Jr., of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, was awarded the $2,000 victory on Saturday night at Wythe Raceway after apparent winner Dawson Lowe was disqualified in post-race inspection. Dawson, who came into round nine of the Schaeffer's Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series leading the point standings, had earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session at the sprawling Rural Retreat, Virginia speedplant before leading all twenty-five circuits in the headliner.

After tech officials found a bump stop infraction on the #16 car of Lowe following the race, it was Peeples, Jr. that was elevated to the top spot in the official rundown. Kenny started from the outside of the front row in the contest and the victory at Wythe Raceway was his first with the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series in 2025. Finishing behind his #22 machine was runner-up Benji Hicks, seventh-starting David Smith, eighth-starting Cole Apple, and series regular Shaun Sise.

A total of 12 Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model series competitors were in the pit area at Wythe Raceway on Saturday, June 28 for the $2,000 to win event. Benji Hicks topped the speed chart in hot laps at the 1/2-mile oval, while Dawson Lowe’s fast lap of 18.647 seconds was the quickest in Knowles Race Parts and Bodies time trials.

Next up for the tour will be a visit to Harris Speedway in Rutherfordton, North Carolina on Saturday evening, July 12. Another $2,000 payday will be up for grabs for the 602 Late Model standouts. Justin Howard, of Elijay, Georgia, is the new series point leader over Dawson Lowe, Shaun Sise, Kevin Fisher, and Hunter Atkinson.
