Red Clay 602 Late Model Series Makes Debut at Wythe Raceway on Saturday, April 26

Round seven of the Schaeffer's Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will take place this Saturday night, April 26 at the picturesque Wythe Raceway! The 602 Late Models will compete for a $2,000 paycheck in the series debut at the Rural Retreat, Virginia speedplant. In the six Red Clay Series shows held so far in 2025, six different winners have graced Schaeffer’s Oil victory lane. Kenny Collins (Senoia Raceway), Jay Coen (Lavonia Speedway), Griffin Smith (Buckshot Speedway), Frankie Beard (Sugar Creek Raceway), Dawson Lowe (Lake View Motor Speedway), and Hayden Cardwell (I-75 Raceway) have all taken the checkers so far in 2025.

Knoxville, Tennessee ace Dawson Lowe will bring the series point lead into Wythe Raceway on Saturday for the $2,000 to win event, which is being presented by Virginia Driveline and Differential. Joining the 602 Late Models on the card for the season opener at the 1/2-mile oval include the 602 Modified, Super Street, Pro Mini, UCAR, KCAR, Vintage Sportsman, and Crown Vic divisions. The pit gate and the grandstand will both open at 5:00pm on Saturday with hot laps slated for 7:00pm and racing scheduled for 8:00pm.

Grandstand admission for Saturday is $15.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors/military, $5.00 for kids ages 7-12, and FREE for kids ages 6 and under. An adult pit pass will be $35.00, while a youth pit pass will be $20.00. Wythe Raceway is located at 164 Race Track Road in Rural Retreat, Virginia. The Red Clay 602 Late Model Series tire rule for Wythe Raceway will be Left Front: Open, Right Front: American Racer Pro 2, Left Rear: American Racer Pro 2, Right Rear: American Racer Pro 2 or Pro 4. The entry fee will be $80.00 and transponders will be available to rent.
