
Red Clay 602 Late Model Series Streaks into Lavonia Speedway this Saturday Night!
Ryan DelphThe second round of the Schaeffer's Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series schedule will be held this Saturday evening, March 22 at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia. A $2,000 first place prize has been posted for the 602 Late Models on Saturday in a series event that was postponed due to inclement weather back on February 22. The total feature purse for the 602’s is $8,340.
In addition to the posted prize money, several bonuses have already been announced for Saturday’s contest at Lavonia Speedway. There will be a $200 pole award up for grabs, which includes a $100 store credit from Knowles Race Parts and Bodies, LLC and $100 from Billings Brothers Autism Awareness. There will also be a random draw for another $100 bonus that will be awarded to a driver finishing second through fifth - courtesy of Billings Brothers Autism Awareness. Another $100 bonus has also been recently announced for the Hard Luck Award from Justin’s Horseshoe Art.
On Saturday at Lavonia, the pit gates will open at 3:00pm, the grandstands will start to allow fans into the facility at 5:00pm, and trackside parking will also open at 5:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm with hot laps to follow shortly thereafter. Grandstand admission is $20.00, trackside admission is $35.00, and pit admission is $40.00. Kids ages 12 and under will be admitted onto the grounds for FREE!
Joining the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will be the Carolina Sprint Tour ($1,000 to win), Stock Car Challenge Series ($1,500 to win), Stock 4 ($1,500 to win), and Street Stock ($800 to win). Kenny Collins, of Colbert, Georgia, will bring the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series point lead into Lavonia, as he picked up the $2,500 payday in the series opener at Senoia (GA) Raceway back on March 1. The Red Clay 602 Late Model Series tire rule for Lavonia Speedway will be Left Front: Open, Right Front: American Racer Pro 2, Left Rear: American Racer Pro 2, Right Rear: American Racer Pro 2, Pro 4.
